Rodent husbandry

Facility overview

Our research facility includes a 2,500 sq ft rodent vivarium. The vivarium is specific pathogen free (SPF), and is capable of housing SCID or SPF mice and rats. The layout consists of two mouse husbandry suites, one rat husbandry suite, a procedure room, and maintenance areas for cage cleaning. All animals are housed in individually ventilated cage (IVC) systems, maintained under positive pressure. Strict quality control measures ensure cleanliness of the facility and animal health and welfare. A full-time veterinarian oversees the care of all the animals.

We currently offer rodent services and plan to begin offering large animal services starting in early-to-mid 2018.
